The Challenge
One of the Nordics' largest renewable operators ran its offshore wind fleet on ageing on-premise servers. Telemetry from 1,200 turbines arrived faster than the infrastructure could process it, so engineers worked from data that was hours stale — and unplanned outages went undiagnosed until crews were already dispatched by boat.
Every hour of downtime meant lost generation and penalty exposure under grid-balancing contracts. Scaling the on-premise estate to keep pace was neither fast enough nor economically viable.
The Solution
Vainateya architected a resilient, auto-scaling hybrid-cloud platform to ingest and process turbine telemetry in real time — pairing edge collection at each site with a cloud analytics core.
- A streaming pipeline processing millions of sensor events per minute with sub-second latency.
- A per-turbine digital twin surfacing performance drift before it became failure.
- Predictive maintenance models that cut fault detection time by 40%.
- Multi-region redundancy engineered for 99.99% platform availability.
The Approach
We delivered through our six-phase Transformation Framework, migrating workloads in reversible waves so the fleet never lost visibility during cutover. Site engineers were trained alongside our architects, leaving the operator's own team fully in control at go-live.
The Results
Within six months the platform ran in production across the entire fleet at 99.99% uptime. Real-time visibility and predictive maintenance cut unplanned outages sharply, and the operator now scales to new wind farms in days rather than quarters.
